A conundrum
Do you tip the guy who delivers the delayed/'lost' airline baggage to your house?
I mean on one hand this guy is the "messenger" and shouldn't be blamed for it, yet
on the other hand this wasn't a 'service' that we asked for, if the airline had done their job properly in the first place.Perhaps they should have a location at the airport for people to come pick it up themselves. It sounds nice to have a guy come deliver it to your doorstep, yet when you think about it they procrastinated all day long before getting it here.
I got the automated message around 10:20AM saying they have located the bag and it is out for 'delivery'.
I waited about three hours and called the airline back and then the truth came out - that it could take from four to six hours for delivery.I didn't wait around this time. And a good thing too. It was around 10:40PM that I received a call saying they would come within the next two hours.
__________
Update: I got it at 1:00AM, good estimate from the guy with the (literally) stinkin' minivan.___________
I can see how this could play out both ways. You get the angry customer who is indignantly righteous in his returned luggage or you can get the insanely glad customer who is just elated that their luggage has been returned and want to reward this stranger.
