As part of the new year's resolution to do more movie reviews, here is yet another one:

    Babylon AD

Unfortunately, this movie is a bomb. It had potential if they only developed the story. It has too many open endings and dead ends. You feel as if the whole movie was based around a ten minute game of cat and mouse, with the actors filling in the holes culminating in one nice special effects explosion which you already saw for free in the commercial. The action scenes were not even that good either, you would think in the future they would have cool lasers *pew pew* or perhaps some nice weapons, but they mostly just used handguns and machine guns and two homing missiles. The only technological gadget that was neat was the interactive 'paper' map.

The story chugs along and then all of a sudden you just hit a wall or fall down into a bottomless pit then the next scene begins. I've never actually said 'huh?' in a movie before. This one made me do it multiple times.

As far as this movie goes, the name speaks for itself, B-AD.

  • Leave it to me to be stuck in a bug.

Notice how Friday and Monday is blocked by the video overflow. I can't click "Edit"

Good thing I didn't write something bad about you guys or give away secret gossip and be unable to edit those posts.

    Maybe next time!

  • A leaked video from some comic convention on Friday.
Seems like the major sites have pulled the video.

  • Jing is an idiot.

me and bubbo were discussing it at Wendy's during our lunch hour. It can't be helped, sometimes people are just retarded.

She is this 'project manager' which is the same as saying she has nothing to do but just comes up with 'projects' and then 'manages' them for untold amounts of time. More often than not it took so long they just have 'new' projects that will take over the old one and the cycle begins again.

She has attended all these meetings from the start. We all know the requirements for this project, so I had my consultant do a mock up of the design. There were suppose to be 3 colors for the bridge to indicate the traffic speeds on a map for our customers. Red, yellow and green. I think they are self explanatory.

However after sending the prototype to her and her boss, she emails us back and says something to the effect of "We don't want our customers to click the button to change the color of the bridge, and it has to be brighter in color".
Obviously this sample was meant to show what the colors 'would' look like should the traffic conditions change based on the data file she had provided. She only gave us one set of data which was just one color. To simulate the rest we added the buttons. Click the red to see what it looks like red. Green, yellow ditto, etc.

Needless to say, her boss which was a person with a functional brain replied in his email and corrected her saying he was sure we didn't mean for the live site to have those buttons and they were just for demonstration purposes only.

That is just one example of a long line of bungling buffoons in that department. It is no wonder our own beloved bobbo has joined their ranks. Sad day indeed.
